Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 18 September 2026
These terms govern your use of descles.com and the Descles control plane and model gateway (together, the "Service"), operated by Descles ("we", "us"). By creating a workspace, routing traffic through the gateway, or paying for a plan, you agree to them. If you agree on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind it. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service is
Descles sits between your agents and the model providers you already use. It authenticates each request against an agent identity, attributes it, records usage and estimated cost, applies the budgets and policy you configure — including withholding a proposed tool call for a human decision — and forwards the request to the provider endpoint you configured. Responses stream back to your client unchanged.
You keep your provider relationship. You may store a provider credential with us (encrypted at rest) or send it on each request so it never reaches our storage, as described in the documentation.
2. What the Service is not
- Not a model provider. Model usage — tokens, images, any inference — is billed to you by your own provider, under your agreement with them. We add no markup to it and we do not resell it. What you pay us, if you pay us, is for the control plane: routing, attribution, budgets, policy, approvals and audit records.
- Not affiliated with any provider. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, OpenRouter and any other product named on this site or in the console belong to their owners. We name them only to say what we can route to.
- Not a hard execution boundary. Enforcement happens on the tool call the model proposes, before your runtime receives it. Whether a tool then runs, and what it does, is a property of the runtime you run — not of Descles. Tool results your runtime reports back are execution evidence, not independent proof that an action succeeded. Matching on shell command strings is best-effort and can be evaded; if you need a hard boundary, sandbox the runtime or use an action gateway.
- Not a service level. The Service is a technical preview. Features listed as planned are not included, and things may change or break.
3. Accounts and workspaces
Sign-in is handled by Clerk; you may use GitHub, Google or email. Your verified identity becomes the owner of one workspace and the agents inside it. Keep your account secure and tell us promptly about use you did not authorize. Agent keys are shown once when issued, belong to one agent, and issuing a new key for an agent revokes the previous one.
4. Your responsibilities
- Your keys, lawfully used. You must be entitled to use every provider credential you store with us or send through us, and to route the traffic you route.
- Keep agent keys secret. Anyone holding one can spend the provider budget it is bound to, within the limits you set.
- Read the traces. Budgets, policy decisions and approvals are only as good as what you configure. Check the console before you rely on a rule, and keep your own copy of any policy you do not want to rewrite.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service to break the law, to attack or overload systems you do not own, to circumvent another provider's terms, rate limits or billing, to reach another workspace's data, or to evade the budgets and quota of your own workspace. Do not resell the hosted gateway as your own product without a written agreement with us. We may rate-limit or suspend traffic that threatens the Service or other tenants.
6. Price, billing and renewal
- Free test launch. One workspace per person includes 1,000 gateway requests over 30 days, with no card required.
- Paid plans. The price and billing period are shown at checkout and charged in advance in US dollars. Prices exclude sales tax, VAT or similar taxes, which are calculated at checkout from your billing country and shown before you pay.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the price in effect, until you cancel. Cancel at any time by emailing outreach@descles.com; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and we do not refund partial periods. If we change the price of a plan you are on, we tell you before it takes effect at your next renewal.
- A separate bill from your provider. Your provider bills you for model usage directly. Cancelling with us does not cancel anything with them.
Payments are processed by Waffo Pancake as our Merchant of Record. Waffo Pancake is the seller on your receipt: it handles payment data, invoices, any applicable sales tax, and refunds at our instruction. Your purchase is also subject to Waffo Pancake's terms and privacy policy.
7. Refunds
Covered by our refund policy: 14 days, for any reason, on your first payment for a plan.
8. Availability, changes and the preview
The Service is offered as a technical preview and may change, and parts of it may be withdrawn, at any time. We may update these terms; the date above changes when we do, and a material change is announced on the site. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it. If you are a consumer, nothing here limits rights you have under the law where you live — including any statutory right to withdraw from a purchase.
9. Your data and our software
Your prompts, responses, provider credentials, policy documents and workspace records are yours. We process them to run the Service and for nothing else: we do not sell them, and we do not use your content to train models. The privacy policy describes exactly what we store and for how long. The Service, this site and the Descles name and marks are ours; feedback you send us we may use without obligation.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate a workspace for non-payment, abuse, unlawful use, or a risk to the Service or to another tenant, and where we can we tell you why. When a workspace ends, access stops; records we must keep for tax and accounting are retained, and the rest is deleted as described in the privacy policy.
11. Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that every risky tool call is caught, that a budget is never exceeded by a request already in flight, or that the Service will be uninterrupted. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data, or for anything your agents do, and our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or US$50. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the operator carries on business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts there have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring proceedings where you live.
